👶 A community is born when you identify the problem - the solution for which lies in bringing together people and enabling them to interact!

Siddharth Ram talks about 3 types of communities you can build:

1. Communities of Interest - large number of people aligning on a common interest and expressing their intent.
2. Communities of Learning - formed with a shared objective to learn something in common to upskill themselves or elevate their intellectual capabilities.
3. Communities of Practice - formed with a shared objective to do a certain task or reach a common goal.

💰 Discord Is Worth $15 Billion after new funding

‍

In a new financing round, led by Dragoneer Investment Group. Baillie Gifford & Co., Coatue Management, Fidelity Management & Research Co. and Franklin Templeton also participated, alongside existing investors Discord raised $500 million. Discord is now valued at $15 billion.

💸 Canva raises $200 million at a $40 billion valuation

‍

With a fresh round of $200 million led by T. Rowe Price, Canva is now valued at $40 billion. New and existing investors participated in the round, including Franklin Templeton, Sequoia Capital Global Equities, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greenoaks Capital, Dragoneer Investments, Blackbird, Felicis and AirTree Ventures.
