Leaderboards are part of a community gamification strategy that displays the ranks of community members or participators according to points or badges. Leaderboards help community builders see the top contributors at a glance and keep track of all activity in the community. The badges and points represent what the members have done to be in that position, which again helps community managers understand their strengths, interests, and level of engagement.

What can leaderboards help me with?

  • As mentioned, leaderboards help you understand your community better so you can make informed decisions.
  • Easy to categorize community members into cohorts which further helps plan out growth strategies.
  • Build a reward program that is non-biased and entirely transparent i.e. leaderboards are public, therefore, fair and quantifiable.
  • Create a sense of healthy competition amongst members to encourage engagement.
